Video : Somaliland military court sentences 17 persons to death

Somaliland military court sentenced today 17 persons to death and handed life sentence to 5 for taking part in the land dispute attack in Eastern Hargeisa yesterday that left 3 army personnel , 2 attackers and 1 civilian dead.


Reports from Hargeisa say that there were no defence lawyers for the suspects  and no proper investigation as to the causes of the incident and who carried out the killings . The verdict was taken hasltly by a military court who claimed that the suspects confessed to their crimes.
This hasty verdict could  aggravate the already tense situation  leading  to further killings and possibly widespread violence .
