Medeshi - I have taken the following few photos from the historic Athletes in Motion Exhibition in Kingston upon Thames of Greater London this evening which also coincides with the opening of the Olympic Games in East London tonight.
"
The human body in motion is timeless, but the ways trying to depict this have changed and evolved over time.
Coinciding with the 2012 London Olympics, this exhibition brings together old and new techniques to capture athletes in motion. It explores Kingston born photographer Muybridge’s photography of athletes in motion, reflecting on its relationship to his wider work and 21st Century techniques, including the use of sport specific biomechanics to measure and correct technique and injury rehabilitation.
This exhibition is a rare opportunity to see how Muybridge’s work paved for ways of capturing our world in motion which continues to inspire."
