Shaikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Foreign Minister received here yesterday the Somali Prime Minister at the sidelines of 67th session of United Nations General Assembly Meeting.
The two sides discussed the bilateral cooperation and the latest developments in Somalia. Shaikh Abdullah expressed his pleasure about the positive developments of political process in Somalia. He pledged continuous support of the UAE to new Somali government.
For his part, the Somali PM thanked the UAE for its support, calling for more sustainable support to include investments in social sectors in Somalia.
The two sides tackled the phenomenon of piracy off the Somali coasts, besides the regional and international efforts to curb this phenomenon.

The UAE Foreign Minister also met the Acting Ethiopian Foreign Minister Berhane Gebre-Christos. They discussed ways to boost the bilateral relations, especially in the areas of economy and investment. The two sides exchanged views on mutual political issues.
The Ethiopian official referred to the historic relations with the UAE, stressing the need for strengthening the relations in all fields.
Sheikh Abdullah also met the Spanish Foreign Minister Jose Manuel Garcia. They discussed ways to boost the bilateral relations, especially in the areas of economy, investment and trade. Shaikh Abdullah and Garcia also exchanged views on issues in the UN agenda, notably, the Syrian standoff, the Palestinian issue and the Peace Process in the Middle East.
The UAE FM met Sri Lankan Foreign Minister G.L. Peres. The two sides discussed the bilateral relations, focusing on the development and investment.
