Ringleader Said Zakaria, 22, was sentenced to 11 years imprisonment in November for his ‘merciless’ acts which included passing one 13-year-old victim around at a 'sex party' in Bristol to be raped four times by three different men.
His sentence has been increased to 16 years at the Court of Appeal.
Omar Jumale, 20, was sentenced to two years’ imprisonment after being convicted of one count of sexual activity with a child.
His sentence has been increased to three years.
The sentences had been referred to the Court of Appeal by the Attorney General’s Office for being unduly lenient and a hearing was held this morning.
The pair were part of a gang of nine Somali men who committed a range of sexual offences on four young girls.
The trial, held at Bristol Crown Court in November, heard that the gang’s victims, aged between 13 and 17, were told the abuse was part of the men's "culture and tradition" and "men always have sex with each other's girlfriends".
