Turkish president cuts ribbons at Digfeer hospital and Aden Ade airport in Mogadishu

(Medeshi)- President Erdogan of Turkey was welcomed today by president Hassan Mohamud of Somalia at Aden Ade International Airport in Mogadishu. This is the second time that Erdogan visited Somalia since 2001.

Erdogan later cut the ribbon of the opening of Digfeer hospital that has been rebuilt by a Turkish company. The president also cut a red ribbon during the opening of Aden Ade International airport in Mogadishu. Both projects have been implemented by Turkish companies with Turkish aid.
President Hassan thanked the Turkish president for his continuous support to the people of Somalia.
"I am saying: Welcome, my brother Erdoğan. We and our nation are so happy. You are part of Somalia's historic transformation. The Somali people won't forget this help,” Mohamud said during the opening ceremony.

The delegation accompanying Erdogan include  Foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu; Science, Industry and Technology Minister Fikri Işık; Economy Minister Nihat Zeybekçi; Forestry and Water Affairs Minister Veysel Eroğlu; and Health Minister Mehmet Müezzinoğlu.
