After talks on political stability, Business Incubator Somalia, services, investment and support for Somali government agencies, the two sides signed agreements on education and civil aviation. Qatar will provide support to the development of higher education and Qatar Airways will soon be launching direct flights to Mogadishu.
Prime Minister Sharmarke thanked the Government of Qatar for its assistance in re-building the country and said co-operation between the two countries would continue to be strengthened. He said the agreements would help in this. He said that his government would encourage Qatar to continue to boost Somalia’s economy and job creation.
Somalia Prime Minister Omar Abdirashid Ali Sharmarke arrived in Doha on Tuesday (March 17) for an official visit to Qatar. He was leading a delegation that included the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Salam hadliye Omar, Minister of Planning and International Cooperation, Abdirahman Aynte, Minister of Transport and Civil Aviation, Ali Ahmed Jama Jaangali, and Minister of Health, Ms. Hawa Hassan Mohamed.
