The bridge over Genale River, which is 136 meters long and part of this road, was constructed by using new technology and diverting the river, ERA indicated.

The bridge will cut short the length of the previous road by 12 to 14 kilometers

The locality that did not have any type of road has now standard gravel road, according to the authority.

Macro General Consulting built the road, while Pan African Consultancy and Transnational Engineers undertook the consultation and supervision works. All the companies are reportedly indigenous.

In its statement ERA commended the growing capacity of local contractors in road building.

The government of Ethiopia fully covered the cost for constructing the road.
