The ministry of Aviation of Saudi Arabia said in a statement that the plane did not apply for entry permission in advance and has therefore been denied entry into the Saudi Air space.
Makkah is the holiest place for the Muslims and no one party holds the right to deny a Muslim performing either haj or Umra in Makkah or visiting Medina Mosque . However this move by the Saudi authorities could have a political dimension relating to the current conflict in Yemen and the war between the Shia and Sunnis in the Middle East.
