The Kenyan authorities have announced that flights from Somalia will not be allowed to land in its territories according to Star News.
The motive behind the flight ban is not clear but could be security related as Al Shabaab fights both the Kenyan and Somali governments.
Another reason for the stoppage of flights could be due to the security of the planned visit of President Obama to Kenya in the coming weeks
Kenya and Somalia have strong trade through air transport which is mainly Khat import from Kenya to Somalia.
Khat trade between the two countries is estimated at hundreds of millions of U.S. Dollars a year.
