Wife to Somali Prime Minister was held for hours at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport after she was found in possession of gun bullets.
According to Nairobi News, Ms Asha Yassim Hassan, the wife of Mr Omar Sharmake, was found with 16 rounds of ammunition in her bag at the screening area as she was leaving for the US on Saturday morning.
Ms Asha was, however, released on a cash bail and allowed to proceed with her journey because of the agency of her journey.
According to the Kenya Airports Police Unit Deputy Commandant Joseph Nthenge, she will be charged in court when she returns from the US.
On interrogation, Ms Asha said that the bag belongs to her husband and that because she was in a hurry she did not check the contents in it.
She is not a licensed gun holder.
