Forum Syd is a member-based organisation which, from a rights-based approach, works with development issues through advocacy and capacity building of partner organisations. Our programmes are currently based in Colombia, Kenya, Belarus and Cambodia. Forum Syd has been working with diaspora organisations in the regions of all Somalia and Somaliland since the 1990´s and are now in the phase of establishing its own offices in Hargeisa, Somaliland, Garoowe, Puntland and Mogadishu, Somalia. Through sub-granted projects the new three-year programme has a strong focus on transferring knowledge and experiences from Somali Diaspora Organisations in Sweden to contribute to the development in the whole of Somalia and Somaliland. Besides the sub granting component the Somali Diaspora will also be involved in peace and dialog building processes across the country and in strengthening of the Somali civil society organisations at grassroots level.

We are now looking for an Administration and Finance Administrator to our Office in Hargeisa, Somaliland

Position
National local staff based in Hargeisa Somaliland, full-time (100%)
Job Purpose
The Administration and Finance Administrator is a junior position that is in general responsible for assuring administrational functioning of office and support to Country Manager in financial operations.
Line Management
The Administration and Finance Administrator reports to the Country Manager in Somaliland Office and to the Financial Controller in Head Office Stockholm.
Duties and responsibilities
Under guidelines and direct supervision of Country Manager, the incumbent shall perform the following scope of work:
Office management and administration (organisation of circulation, filing and archiving of administrative, accounting and financial documents).
Creating and maintaining reference files/records (electronic and paper) and filing of documents related to the above processes.
Assists in generating financial reports and follow ups.

Requirements
University/college degree in finance and/or economics/administration.
1-3 years of experience (employment of internship) performing administrative and accounting assistance tasks
Experience in using standard PC software packages including word processor, financial programmes and email packages.
Working knowledge of English language
Sound knowledge and understanding of general administration principles and practices.
Sound knowledge and understanding of accounting principles and working practices.
Sound knowledge and understanding of budget management and control principles and working practices.
Very good communication and interpersonal skills
Highly numerate.
Ability to plan own work, set priorities and complete it under pressure.
Ability to work effectively as part of a multicultural, international team.
Experience of working in the non-profit/NGO sector is desirable.
