(Evening Standard) Police have stepped up the hunt for a group of teenage girls who have been missing from north London for more than a week.
Fardowsa Hassan, 13, and Abir Salah, 16, were last seen on December 6, while Abir’s sister Ahlam, 15, went missing on Saturday.
They are all from Wood Green.
They are not thought to have left the country and police are not expecting them to try, a Scotland Yard spokesman confirmed.
They “may be sleeping on buses or elsewhere on the transport network,” he added.
Fardowsa, the youngest girl, is described as being of Arabic appearance, 5ft 5ins tall and of medium build.
Abir is described as black and of Somali decent. She is 5ft 10ins tall and of medium build.
Ahlam is also black and of Somali decent. She is described as 5ft 5ins tall and of medium build.
“All the girls’ families are concerned for their welfare and urge them to contact them, or the police, to let them know they are safe and well,” said the spokesman.
Anyone with information is asked to call police on 101 and ask for Haringey’s missing persons unit.
