Somaliland- UAE gives food aid to 10,000 people affected by drought in Borama

 A team from the Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan Foundation has arrived in the Somali province of Borama to distribute urgent relief aid to 10,000 displaced people fleeing the drought which severely damaged their crops and livestock.


The campaign is in implementation of the directives of the President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, and His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces.

A spokesman from the organisation said that the foundation has so far distributed 2,500 food parcels containing water, sugar, flour, and dates to those affected, and is in the process of preparing another 5,000 aid baskets for distribution.
