Amsterdam asylum-seekers: “not my problem”

RNW--Two weeks ago some 100 asylum-seekers – mostly from Somalia, Eritrea and Sudan – were evicted from their temporary tent camp in Osdorp in the west of Amsterdam. By the end of the day, 96 of them were back on the streets, with nowhere to go and seemingly no one to help them.

27 dead' in US school shooting

BBC-As many as 27 people have been killed, including many children, in a shooting attack at a primary school in the US state of Connecticut, US media say.

Video shows man beaten up by Cameroonian presidential guard

Observers.France 24  - The video was published on a site run by expat Cameroonians living in Belgium. According to them, the incident took place on November 30; they believe the man who is beaten up by presidential guards was a protester that refused to get off the road that President Paul Biya’s convoy was scheduled to drive down. The site’s administrators say they were in contact with the person who filmed the video.

Efforts are underway to help Somalis make better use of their 3,300km coastline - the longest on the African continent - by increasing fishing and seafood exports to lucrative markets in the Middle East and Europe.
