Turkey : Davutoglu wishes a speedy recovery after suicide attack in Somali

(Medeshi) - ANKARA - Turkish Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu wished a speedy recovery after suicide attack in Somalia and said "May Allah rest his soul" after the death of a Turkish security official by a suicide attack against Turkish Embassy in Somali capital in Mogadishu on Saturday.
Davutoglu in his official social networking account, said, a Turkish security official was martyred in a suicide attack in front of staff building of Turkish Embassy in Somali capital in Mogadishu on Saturday.

(Medeshi) -  Saturday July 27, 2013- a Somali army court carried the execution of 4 soldiers by firing squad on Saturday . The soldiers are accused of illegal killing of  people in the capital .
The head of the military court of Somalia  Mr. Liban Ali Yarow informed the press that the 4 soldiers had committed killings in the capital . He said that “there are other soldiers who have committed similar crimes that are also waiting execution”.

Civilian killed in Mogadishu blast

(Medeshi) - Mogadishu - At least one person was killed and several others were wounded on Wednesday when a car bomb exploded in Somalia's capital Mogadishu, the latest in a string of attacks, police said.

(Medeshi) - Nada al-Ahdal says she would rather die than get married at her age and calls the potential marriage "criminal."
According to a report in NOW Lebanon, Nada fled to her uncle when her parents agreed to marry her to a Yemeni expatriate living in Saudi Arabia.
In a follow-up report by the pan-Arab television channel Al Mayadeen, Nada's father pledged not to marry her off until she is 17-years old. He did not say what pushed him to change his mind.

UK - Business Secretary revokes five export licences to Egypt

(Medeshi) - Vince Cable has recently  announcedthat  he has revoked five export licences to Egypt in light of recent events which have led to deaths of civilians.
Following advice from the Foreign and Commonwealth Office, the Department for Business, Innovation and Skills, the licensing authority for arms exports, has taken the decision to revoke five standard individual export licences.

22 soldiers leave for mission off somali coast

(Medeshi) - Twenty-two Maltese soldiers this morning left to take part in a mission off the coast of Somalia.
They will join the Dutch warship Johan de Witt, which will transport them to the coast of Somalia to be part of a European Union mission that will last till 27 September. The aim of the mission is to deter piracy and armed robbery on the sea.
