Election fraud - Former first lady goes on trial in Ivory Coast

(Medeshi)- Ivory Coast’s former first lady Simone Gbagbo went on trial in Abidjan on Friday accused of helping her husband to steal an election that he lost in 2010 and resisting efforts to dislodge him in a civil war that followed.

Zakariye Ismail Hersi was captured in a raid Saturday morning in the town of El Wak near the border with Kenya.
